Continued from the About section of our profile (so check that out first or this won't make any sense!) ... The lower level has an exercise room (with free weights, a weight machine, a heavy bag, pull-up bar, and an elliptical tread climber) and an office. The house has a garage as well as driveway and street parking and is less than 5 minutes from the -Mile light rail station (15 minutes by bus, the nearest stop is a 5-10 minute walk). The commute to downtown or DU/Wash Park by light rail/bus is about 30 minutes. The house has both a whole-house fan and AC. Water is covered by the landlord, we have trash and recycling service, high speed internet (100Mbps), and DirecTV included for a flat rate (so the amount will not change month-to-month). The front and back yard are very nice -- the back yard is pretty secluded (privacy fences on two of the three sides) and has a wood deck, a covered patio, and two garden/flower plots. We also have a large propane grill in the back. We have a small bird who lives in an aviary on the main level and is often out of her cage so we cannot have any cats or dogs (or anything else that might eat a bird). One of our roommates is very security conscious (comes from working for the government) so the house is a fortress. We're talking cameras (on the outside), motion detectors, security doors -- the works. It's a very safe neighborhood, but we also make it a very safe house. We are looking at $500 per month in rent plus a flat $100 for utilities.
